Workshop on raising and chasing at Jerry Scavezze’s studio.

This is to be a 5 day workshop where I’ll be focusing on raising vessels and then chasing designs into them. It is being hosted by Jerry Scavezze at his teaching facility, the Colorado School of Jewelry and Metal Arts. When not banging on metal or soldering together your newly learned project, the valley offers a variety of diversions, including fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking and of course shopping.”

I’ve been to Salida twice now for the annual Colorado Metalsmiths Association (COMA) conference and can tell you it’s a pretty cool location. There are some photos of the areas outside of town in my album of vacation photos.

Five days should give a good amount of time to really get into this. We’ll cover raising, chasing, some tool making, using microcrystaline wax instead of pitch, as well as the forming and soldering on of a rim.

For more information you can check out the school’s website
HERE. You can also call them at 719-539-2971.

This workshop is contingent on enough people signing up, so if you are interested don’t wait until the last minute. Get a hold of Jerry now so we can make this happen!
